Scope

This notice covers personal information relating to:

visitors to the public website;
people who contact KSG through the listed contact channels;
prospective clients, suppliers and professional contacts; and
people whose business contact details are supplied during legitimate business activity.

Separate privacy notices or contractual terms may apply to client, employment, recruitment or other relationships in future.

Information KSG May Collect

Depending on the interaction, KSG may collect:

name, business contact details, organisation and role;
correspondence, enquiry content and voluntarily supplied information;
records of professional and commercial interactions; and
technical information recorded by hosting and security systems, such as IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, requested pages, and diagnostic or security events.

The website does not operate a public contact form. Clicking an email link opens the visitor’s own email application; the website does not submit or store the message.

How Information Is Collected

Information may be collected:

directly when someone contacts or corresponds with KSG;
through professional or commercial interactions;
automatically through necessary hosting, security and server logs; and
from publicly available professional sources where their use is relevant, lawful and proportionate.

Purposes and Lawful Bases

KSG uses personal information only where it has a lawful basis. The current purposes and bases are set out below.

Responding to enquiries and providing requested information: Legitimate interests in communicating about KSG’s work, or steps requested before entering into a contract.
Considering and managing prospective business relationships: Legitimate interests in developing and administering KSG’s business, or contract where applicable.
Maintaining business and correspondence records: Legitimate interests in maintaining accurate, proportionate records and managing professional relationships.
Operating, securing and diagnosing the website: Legitimate interests in providing a reliable and secure website, preventing misuse and resolving technical problems.
Meeting legal duties and handling legal claims: Legal obligation, or legitimate interests in establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

KSG’s legitimate interests are to operate a secure public website, communicate with professional contacts, develop and administer its business, maintain appropriate records and protect its legal interests. KSG considers whether those interests are proportionate and whether an individual’s rights override them.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

At launch, KSG does not use analytics, advertising technology, behavioural tracking or other non-essential cookies. The website’s application code does not set cookies or use local or session storage.

The hosting platform may process technical request information and use technologies that are strictly necessary for security, reliability and delivery. No consent banner is currently shown because no non-essential technology requiring consent has been implemented. KSG will review this position before introducing analytics or other non-essential technology.

Current Intelligence and External Sources

KSG retrieves limited publication metadata server-side from approved external sources for the Current Intelligence feed. This retrieval does not intentionally send website-visitor personal information to those publication sources.

Selecting an external publication link takes the visitor to a third-party website in a new browser tab. That third party applies its own privacy notice and technologies. KSG does not control and is not responsible for third-party privacy practices.

Sharing and Processors

KSG may share personal information only where necessary with service providers used to operate the website, email and supporting IT systems; professional advisers; regulators, courts or public authorities where required; and parties involved in a lawful corporate transaction.

The website uses Vercel hosting infrastructure. Service providers process information under their own applicable terms and, where required, contractual data-protection obligations. KSG does not sell personal information.

International Transfers

Some hosting or technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires it, KSG will use an appropriate transfer mechanism and assess the protection available. The applicable provider arrangements must remain under review as the production infrastructure changes.

Retention

KSG retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to meet legal, regulatory and accounting requirements, manage disputes and maintain proportionate security and operational records.

Retention decisions take account of the nature and sensitivity of the information, the relationship and correspondence concerned, legal limitation periods, applicable duties and security needs. Information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer required.

Security

KSG uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No internet service or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Individual Rights

Depending on the circumstances, individuals may have the right to:

request access to personal information and a copy of it;
ask for inaccurate or incomplete information to be corrected;
ask for information to be erased or its use restricted in certain circumstances;
object to processing based on legitimate interests;
request data portability where the legal conditions apply; and
withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

These rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions. KSG may need to verify identity before acting on a request. Requests can be sent to hello@ksgadvisory.co.uk.

Individuals may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data-protection regulator.
